Simply: Without Satsuki doing what she was doing, even if Ryuko came, there would have been no hope against Ragyo. If she screwed up even a bit, they all would have died. Every single day she fought–for her father, for her sister, for the world. While also dealing with Ragyo’s abusive ways. That’s easily 14 or 13 years devoted to doing that. Satsuki has been planning to overthrow her mother since Kindergarten. We all know she has a piece of Bakuzan as her toe, you guys know she could have cut the Life Fibers if she wanted to. A lot of people are mad about Satsuki’s role in this episode, and this has to be the exact reason for her easily playing damsel. It was a small, but important detail to me. It showed that they actually bonded with them, instead of using them as tools. I felt happy to see the “clones” as I dubbed them (the background characters who looked the same) interacting with Nonon and Ira. Sorta interesting off topic story: Satsuki trying to overthrow her mother was a theory made a week or two before episode 18. The school being a Kamui was one I supported greatly from the time I saw it (the third episode or so) and I instantly knew it’d be in the OVA after episode 24. The school being a Kamui was not surprising.I don’t know if any of you were on tumblr while it was airing, but the tag was filled with theories. Came to that conclusion with no evidence whatsoever but I’m pretty sure it’s right :D Time for my daily Ragyo excuse: She got Rei to make up for Ryuko. If you could let Ryuko die let her die you little asshole. You guys know the drill.
But it’s typical Satsuki fan stuff– How dare you treat this random person better than your daughters you piece of shit. Now I did get angry at Ragyo in this scene. I understood zero besides “Ragyo-Sama” and “Satsuki Kiryuuin” in that scene, but I did get the message: Rei worshipped Ragyo like I do Satsuki and she felt Ragyo was like her mother. I knew she wouldn’t go out so easily, especially if she was messing with Ragyo. Well, first thing I want to say that’s good about this is Rei. I was almost satisfied when Satsuki called out her clone and I saw the Junketsu copy. :/ I know, I know, I usually have unrealistic expectations. Instead, as usual, it’s Ryuko and Senketsu bonding. Just a little Satsuki-Junketsu interaction. But I really wanted Junketsu and Satsuki to bond at least a little, either through a flashback or whatever. Sure, Rei made those evil copies of Satsuki and the Elite Four with a copy of Junketsu. I was so/so with this, a bit happy, a bit sad, and a bit disappointed. Also, I do not know Japanese so I when I watched the raw I went off of what I felt and the little things they said that I understood.Īlright. Key notes here: I was having a shitty day and the OVA brightened it up a bit so things might be biased.
